Hi, I'm Zi Fong
Brought up on the sunny fast-paced island of Singapore, I am constantly blown away by how much things have changed in the past two decades: my mum taught me how to write and now I'm teaching her how to type.
As a designer living in an era that thrives on information overload, this drove me to be interested in humanising technology, to create digital products that empathises, inspires and calms.

Out of office
As much as I enjoy improving user experiences, I love my earth-bound user experiences just as much. Off work, I am:
The Portrait Lady
I illustrate portraits at @theportraitlady.sg. Nothing makes me happier than capturing moments for human beans with their loved ones, their paw pals or those who have passed on.
Check out my other sporadic artworks at yongzifong.weebly.com
A New Life Stories volunteer
I volunteer weekly for New Life Stories, a non-profit organisation that aims to prevent intergenerational incarceration, as a befriender.
Witnessing my lil buddy learn, laugh and grow during our sessions is always one of the highlights of my week.
An Eager Beaver who can't sit still
I unfortunately (or fortunately) love activities that make my asian parents nervous, from climbing onto the Kjerag rock, hiking the Annapurna circuit or amateur diving. Heh.
In my past life
Am thankful for the experiences that have built me to the designer and person I am today. I was:
The co-creator of Dyslexperience
Along with my good friend, Ai Ling, we designed an empathy "book" with projection mapping to spread awareness about the experience of Dyslexia. We were fortunate to have been awarded with the Red Dot Award and TISDC 2019.
We were also featured in:
Conference Paper 2019
Taiwan News, 2019
Taiwan Today, 2019
An industrial design student
With my seniors, we launched a successfully funded Kickstarter campaign for pen fanatics called the Quotidian Pen, raising S$ 71,046 with 638 backers.
My education also egged on my huge soft spot for designing in socially-charged sectors (eg. dyslexia, education for vulnerable communities, mental health). Check out my industrial design works here.
An NOC Stockholm alumni
As part of the programme, I worked in a fantastic Swedish digital creative agency called North Kingdom.
Along with gaining many precious pals and European backpacking adventures, I was lucky to have worked on projects where walk away as Champions of L'Oréal Brandstorm Nordics 2018 and Finalists of Guldägget 2018.
