Overview:

Keep cool with KALLIE, at a fraction of the cost of an air-conditioner.

KALLIE, inspired by the root word KALL, which means ‘cool’ is a portable attachment that can be fitted onto any fan of any side. Inspired by the semantics of a snowflake, KALLIE allows wind from the fan to pass through, creating an ultimate cooling breeze - at a fraction of the cost of an air-conditioner. With KALLIE, you can slip it onto any fan in your home, office, on windows and even in cars.

Singapore has a tropical climate, with an average temperature of 30°C. Hence, in Singapore a large portion of residential electricity consumption is typically used for space cooling and air-conditioning. With KALLIE, offices and households can still afford to keep cool without the use of excessive air-conditioning. It is inspired by current eye cooler gel pack and a student hostel hack that we used to engage in, where we place a bowl of ice in front of a fan and experience the ultimate cooling breeze - at a fraction of the cost of an air-conditioner. Similarly, due to refrigerant gel’s high latent heat of fusion, it can stay frozen for 4-5 hours, picking up the air flow and sending a cooling mist your way -- bliss.
