I worked at KEIO-NUS Cute Center as a design research intern during the summer of 2017. From May to July, I worked closely with with Maggie Seah, under the guidance of Lee Jieying Mandi, where we worked on a virtual reality human anatomy educational tool and an augmented reality dentistry math game.

  1. ViHA is a virtual reality simulation that acts as a human anatomy educational tool for first and second year medical students from the National University of Singapore. There are limited number of cadavers available for anatomy teaching in NUS Medicine, so more methods were seeked. We were task to redesign and reframe the User Interface and User Experience of the simulation to make it more intuitive and engaging.

  2. The Faculty of Dentistry was interested in creating a game with AR, to innovate new pedagogies for teaching Dentistry students about Biostatistics. We conducted several interviews with the students and created many quick-and-dirty prototypes to test out our ideas.

Even though our work was not focused on production, we gathered deep insights in the set-up and design of a VR/AR environment and the importance of design ethnographic research.
